How courier.insure stays secure, what we will never ask you for, and how to check you are dealing with genuine courier insurance.
Quick answer
- Courier Insure is an information website. There are no forms, logins or payments here, so there is nothing to enter and no card details to protect.
- We will never ask you for payment, bank details, passwords or documents by email, phone, text or social media.
- Our quote buttons take you to MyMoneyComparison.com. Check the address bar shows mymoneycomparison.com before you enter any details.
- Be wary of anyone selling cheap courier cover on social media or by message. Check the seller and your policy before you pay.
- If you spot a security problem or a message pretending to be us, email us and we will look into it.
1. How we keep the website secure
Every page of courier.insure is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, shown by the padlock in your browser. Because the website does not ask for any personal or payment information, there is no customer data stored here that could be exposed.
- Website software, themes and plugins are kept up to date with security updates.
- Access to manage the website is limited to the people who need it.
- The website uses only strictly necessary cookies, with no advertising or tracking cookies.
Our privacy policy explains how we treat personal information, including the only time we receive any: when you choose to email us.
2. What we will never ask you for
Courier Insure does not sell insurance, take payments or handle policies. That means we will never contact you to ask for:
- Payment for a policy, a deposit or an admin fee
- Your bank or card details
- Passwords, one-time codes or login details
- Copies of your driving licence, ID or vehicle documents
If you receive an email, call, text or social media message claiming to be Courier Insure and asking for any of these, do not reply or pay. Please forward it to info@courier-fleet.co.uk so we can warn others.
3. Checking you have reached MyMoneyComparison.com
When you choose Get started or Get a quote, a short message tells you that you are being taken to our partner. You then leave courier.insure and arrive on MyMoneyComparison.com, a comparison service that can match you with specialist brokers.
Before you enter any details, check the address bar. The address should start with https://www.mymoneycomparison.com or https://quote.mymoneycomparison.com. If it shows a different or misspelt address, close the page and contact us.
A padlock on its own only shows the connection is encrypted. It does not prove a website is genuine, so the address is the thing to check. Anything you enter on MyMoneyComparison.com is handled under its own privacy policy and security measures.
4. Protect yourself from ghost brokers
Ghost brokers sell fake or invalid insurance, often to van and car delivery drivers looking for cheaper cover. They commonly advertise on social media, messaging apps and marketplace websites, and may offer cover at a price that seems too good to be true.
A fake policy can leave you driving uninsured without knowing it. Before you pay anyone for cover, it is worth these checks:
- Check the seller is authorised. Search the FCA Financial Services Register for the firm's name and reference number, and use the contact details shown there, not the ones in the advert.
- Be wary of payment requests. Paying by bank transfer to a personal account, or being asked to pay in cash or vouchers, is a warning sign.
- Check your van is on the database. Once cover starts, use askMID to check your vehicle appears on the Motor Insurance Database.
- Check the documents. Contact the insurer named on your certificate directly to confirm the policy is real and shows the right class of use, such as hire and reward.
The Insurance Fraud Bureau has more guidance on ghost broking and how to report it. Our page on hire and reward van insurance explains what a genuine courier policy should show.
5. Reporting a security issue
If you think you have found a security problem with courier.insure, or you have seen a website, advert or message pretending to be us, please email info@courier-fleet.co.uk with as much detail as you can, such as links, screenshots and dates.
Please do not include personal or payment details in your email. We will look into every report and reply as soon as we can. If you have lost money to a scam, contact your bank straight away and report it to the police.
Security questions
Is courier.insure safe to use?
Yes. The website is encrypted with HTTPS and does not ask for any personal or payment information. It explains courier cover and links to MyMoneyComparison.com when you want to compare quotes.
Will Courier Insure ever ask me to pay for a policy?
No. Courier Insure is not an insurer or broker and does not take payments. If anyone asks you to pay Courier Insure for cover, do not pay and forward the message to info@courier-fleet.co.uk.
How do I know I have reached the real MyMoneyComparison.com?
Check the address bar before entering details. It should start with https://www.mymoneycomparison.com or https://quote.mymoneycomparison.com. If the address looks different or misspelt, close the page.
What is ghost broking?
Ghost broking is the sale of fake or invalid insurance, often through social media or messaging apps. Delivery drivers are a common target because courier cover can be expensive, so check the seller on the FCA register before paying.
How can I check my van is insured?
Once your cover has started, you can use askMID to check that your vehicle appears on the Motor Insurance Database. You can also contact the insurer named on your certificate to confirm the policy.
How do I report a security problem with the website?
Email info@courier-fleet.co.uk with details of what you found, such as the page link and a screenshot. Please do not send personal or payment details.
